These
are the highlights of the events we participted in the Year 2000
June
11,18 & 21 For the Art's Festival Fringe, our Jazz Combo performed at Admiralty
MRT. The Thomson Swing Band and The Jazz Orchestra reached out
to the heartlanders when they played at Hougang and Bishan Park and the
East Coast Park.
May
1 &15 The Thomson Swing Band performed at Harry's bar at Boat Quay.
April
22 The Thomson Jazz Orchestra performed at the NAC-Shell Arts for the
Community programme series at Bishan Park.

14 & 15
The
Conviva Beer Festival was the highlight of April as our Big Bands accompanied
local singers Jacinta and Marina Xavier who entertained with swinging
jazz standards and Billie Holiday medleys. We also accompanied the Jitterbugs
Swingapore on some numbers.
The
bands had a great session and celebrated their performance with a party
at the Festival. Afer all, the Club that plays together, drinks together
and stays together.

April 8 The Saxophone Quartet performed at PA's 40th Anniversary Celebrations.
March
10 & 24 The Combos performed at Robertson Walk while the the Big Bands were
at Harry's.
February 16 The
Convivia Jazz Festival launch was opened by the Thomson Big Band at Brewerkz,
Riverside point. The Band played for 45 mins.

Jazz Combos were back performing at Robertson Walk for another year in
2000. 4 combos, each
with its own unique jazz style, were
involved.
